Toy soldiers aren't just for playtime anymore
I've managed to clean out most of the Walgreen's near my flat, and they don't appear to be restocking them.Hmmm...
Now, I'll have to go to Wal-Mart and pay twice the price.Okay, so that's $1.97, but still.
You could just take them out of the package, tag them and distribute them throught the wal-mart and leave. No one will stop you, because that would be too close to customer service. Plus, a lot of people that go in there need the awareness. Perfect mission. Might do it myself.
I went to several Targets and dollar stores before I found any soldiers in the first go-round. Also purchased a bunch on eBay (paid more for shipping than for the damn soldiers, too!)Perhaps there's a run on them from families with little kids -- classic toy. I reserve my paranoia for serious shit, like my phone calls being monitered.
They still had a buttload of police/firemen, but they ALWAYS have army men, so I'm just going to watch and see.
I should have bought more and put them up on ebay today...could have made some profit...but then would that be considered morally reprhensible and war time profiteering? Shit, no. The W, Rove and Co does it all the time. I have half a mind to do it.
Damn. $1.97? I paid like $5 at the freakin' Walgreens.
Although I'm not a supporter of your cause, I think the protest idea is brilliant. I know a writer that commented to me this afternoon about your protest and he may contact you about doing an article on this.
I had a hard time finding my soldiers almost up to the last minute. I got the only 2 packages left. There were firemen and some police too. I had to travel to several stores to find these.
Well, I looked at Wal-Mart last night, and even asked a stocker monkey about them, and couldn't find any there.I'm checking out Target next, then going to look around at some of the liquidator stores around here...this is starting to annoy me!
